Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how UAV Zones collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect the following categories of information:
Account and profile data, such as name, email address, pilot profile settings, and authentication identifiers.
Mission and operations data, such as mission locations, mission plans, checklists, flight logs, equipment records, maintenance entries, compliance reminders, and uploaded evidence or attachments.
Device and usage data, such as app version, diagnostics, crash details, and interaction events used for reliability and security.
Location data, when you grant permission, to center maps, run planning checks, and support mission workflows.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
Provide core app features and synchronize your account data.
Support map, weather, geocoding, and planning-related functionality.
Maintain security, prevent abuse, detect fraud, and debug issues.
Respond to support requests and improve product quality.
Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and resolve disputes.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with service providers that process data on our behalf (for example, hosting, authentication, storage, and infrastructure providers), and only as needed to operate the Service.
We may also share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
FAA and Authorization Status
UAV Zones is not currently an FAA-approved LAANC provider. Planning results are informational and are not flight authorizations. If live authorization capabilities are added in the future, this policy will be updated before any new collection or submission workflow is enabled.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, satisfy legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods may vary based on data type, account status, operational requirements, and applicable law.
Your Choices and Rights
You can request account deletion and data export through account settings where available, or by contacting us.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, or restriction of processing.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International Processing
Information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.
